The Boy Scouts of America has designed a new Scout uniform for the Centennial. This new uniform is designed with activities and camping in mind, using high-tech materials that dry fast and wick away moisture.

New Strategic Plan- Just as a Scout uses a map and compass to find his way, the 2008 � 2012 Strategic Plan of the Sam Houston Area Council will serve as our map and compass. The plan was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors on June 23, 2008. Click the link below to learn more.

Criminal Background Checks for Leaders As dedicated BSA volunteers, you understand the importance of keeping our youth safe in the Scouting program. To ensure Youth Protection, our organization has conducted criminal background checks on all new volunteers since April 2003. Because some volunteers have been continually registered in the program before April 2003, some have not had a criminal background check. In the next few moths, we will be communicating with those volunteers on this issue. Learn more
