The theme of the national Cub Scouting membership growth program for 2007-08 is “Race to Cub
Scouting: It's Fun at Every Turn!” We want to reach out to every potential Cub Scout-age boy and his family with a personal invitation to join our program, where they will learn good values and have fun with friends.
Each pack will want to emphasize year-round growth. We can recruit new Cub Scout any time of the year – not just in the fall at School Night! Sam Houston Area Council has lots of resource to help you in your pack in its efforts (www.shac.org/Home/Events1/SchoolNighttoJoinScout/).
To learn more about how to join the Cub Scout program, check out the Join Cub Scouting web site, which includes fun and games for the boys. This is a site external of Sam Houston Area Council web site.

The peer-to-peer approach is the ideal method of invitation to Cub Scouting. When our Cub Scout are being provided with a quality program, they become our best ambassadors of the program! Make all your Scouting events an opportunity for boys to bring a friend to join in the fun.

Our Cub Scouts deserve the best leadership possible. Click here for a copy of the publication Selecting Cub Scout Leadership, which will help you identify those adults who will help deliver the promise of Scouting to your dens and pack.
| WEBELOS-TO-SCOUT TRANSITION |
Every Webelos den leader should set a goal for each of their Webelos Scouts to graduate into a Boy Scout troop. A seamless transition requires the cooperation of many people and is a cooperative effort between the pack and the troop.
Click here for a link to the BSA National web site for information on how a pack and troop can work together to facilitate the boys' transition from Webelos Scouts to Boy Scouts.
