61 Years of Camping

The Conference center was built in 1977.  The Center has the ability to hold 92 guests over night with conference facilities for over 200.

We offer a full service dinning room with meal service.

Although primarily Scout group use, the conference center is avaliable to any non-profit organization.  We are home to many church retreats, Red Cross training events and local agencies of Southeast Texas

Background

This 2,288 acre property is located 2 miles south of Conroe on Interstate 45 in the Texas Piney Woods. Grand Lake has 21 troop sites and operates 8 weekly sessions during the summer. Grand Lake incorporates several specialty programs including sailing and water skiing into the summer sessions. Because of its close proximity to the Metropolitan area, Camp Strake is the world's most used Scout facility.
