30th Annual Council First Aid Meet

On Saturday, February 16, 2008, 21 Boy Scout patrols from Scout troops in 13 Districts competed in the 30th Annual Council First Aid Meet at St. Lukes United Methodist Church. There were over 200 Scouts, Scouters, parents and spectators in attendance.

Dr. Tom Garcia, Chairman, Council Health and Safety Committee, directed the meet with the assistance of members of the Council’s Health and Safety Committee and many District and unit Scouters who served as judges, registrars, runners and scorekeepers. Dr. Garcia said “ This was a smooth event and it is the Scouts, Scouters and parents from all over the Council that make the First Aid Meet successful. “.

The winning patrol was the Buckeye Patrol from Troop 604, Skyline District, Darrel Taylor, Scoutmaster. They received the “Dr. J. Charles Dickson” trophy. This was the fifteenth time that a patrol from Troop 604 has won the Council First Aid Meet.

The second place patrol was the Flying Eagles Patrol, Troop 30, Skyline District, Lawrence Wagenhauser, Scoutmaster.

There was a tie for third place; the patrols were: Spartan Patrol, Troop 577, David Crockett District, Don Kocian, Scoutmaster and the Killer Rabbits Patrol, Troop 977, Arrowmoon District, David Moore, Scoutmaster.
