Special Needs Scouting provides a specialized program to Special Education classrooms and youth serving agencies in the council area. Included in the program are special events such as Bowling, Movies, and, our most popular event, Outdoor Fun at Camp Strake.

The program offered by the Sam Houston Area Council includes a variety of classroom enhancements that can be incorporated into any Special Education classroom. Of primary interest are lesson plans that focus on Life Skills, Motor Skills, and Citizenship Traits.
Additionally, each fall and spring we host an Outdoor Camping Weekend to provide an overnight experience for our youth members and adult leaders.
