Scouting in the News Award

Scouting has many great stories to tell and one of the best ways to share these stories with our community is through our local media. The Scouting in the News Award is given to units once they have collected 12 published articles.  These articles should feature your Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, Post, patrol or den in local newspapers, newsletters, on the radio or even television.

Just complete the attached form. Attach the original articles and send it to the address at the bottom of the form.

12 points are required to qualify.

  •  Articles and radio coverage = 1 point
  •  Articles with photos, photos with captions or TV stories = 2 points.

Please compile all documentation and send it in when you qualify.

For questions concerning the Scouting in the News Award, you can contact us at paul.cowan@shac.org.
