Boy Scout Summer Camp

El Rancho Cima hosts two individual summer camp experiences where Boy Scouts can earn merit badges, learn and practice their Scouting skills, follow the Patrol method and work towards advancement while having a fun time swimming, climbing and enjoying the Texas Hill Country.

Cockrell River Camp and Walter Scout Camp at Horseshoe Bend Summer Camp fees are $250 per Scout. Following our payment schedule, each Scout can receive a discount resulting in a fee of $230.

Cockrell River Camp

    * Swim in the Blanco River, water temperature on average is 68 degrees
    * Crystal clear turquoise water
    * Campsites located on the river
    * State of the art J.C. Walter Family Shooting Sports Complex
    * Climbing opportunities with spectacular view
    * “Blanco Blast” a unique first year camping experience
    * A new Older Scout program called Rough Riders
    * 40 foot Climbing Tower

Walter Horseshoe Bend       

    * Over 40 head of horses
    * A western rodeo
    * “Forest Mountain Brigade”, a first year camper experience
    * A Jr. Olympic swimming pool
    * Black Powder Shooting
    * A variety of merit badges including Animal Science, Horsemanship
    * A new Older Scout program called Rough Riders
    * 40 foot Climbing Tower
