Sam Houston Area Council offers Range Safety Officer training plus NRA INstructor training for Pistol, Rifle, Muzzle Loader and Shotgun disciplines to all registered adult leaders. This certification is required to open any of the Shooting Sports ranges or to have Troop and district shooting sports programs in conformance with the Guide to Safe Scouting.
